We are currently offering a 2-year postdoc position to study soil food web structure and ecosystem functioning in kauri dominated forests that are increasingly threatened by the Phytophthora agathidicida pathogen. We are only able to consider applications from New Zealand citizens or people currently residing in New Zealand at this time, due to current international border restrictions. Find more details on the project and how to apply here.

Funding for postdoctoral research in New Zealand is extremely competitive and can be very difficult to obtain. Often, the best option is to bring funding from your home country. If you are considering this, you should contact Andrew Barnes with a general outline of your research interests and aims to discuss possibilities for joining the group.

If you are thinking of pursuing a PhD or a Master’s degree and are interested in the group’s research themes, please get in contact with Andrew Barnes to discuss possibilities for thesis projects.
